Shane is at a party and is very drunk. He picks up a glass of beer and tries to throw the contents over Gina, his former girlfriend. The glass slips from his hand as he is throwing it and strikes Gina, cutting her cheek. Gina’s new boyfriend, Kapil, calls Shane a “drunken idiot”. Angered by this Shane lurches at Kapil but stubbles over a chair breaking on of the chair legs. He picks up the broken leg and, believing Kapil is about to punch him tries to hit Kapil over the head with it, but only succeeds in hitting Gina. Gina is taken to hospital where x-rays reveal she has a fractured skull. He then realizes he is in the wrong house. He then thinks there may be items in the house worth stealing. He switches on the light, walks into the hallway and notices an antique umbrella collection in a glass case. He takes son e of the umbrella because it has started to pour with rain. As he walks down the road, a police officer driving past in a police car sees Shane and stops. The police officer tells Shane to empty his pockets and Shane refuses.
