Instruction given by the lecturer: In your answer you need to at least discuss: i) examples of the types of “ethical business conduct” you think need to be promoted at an international level; ii) the arguments for and against seeking to promote ethical business conduct at an international level; iii) the different mechanisms, strategies or techniques for defining and promoting ethical business conduct at an international level; and iv) your views on the importance or otherwise of promoting ethical business conduct at an international level. Topic covered by the course included: international corruption and bribery, exploitation of less developed counties by rich and developed countries, (should Australia determine the environment standards to be adhered to by Australian companies when operating in countries other than Australia) United Nations Convention Against Corruption, OECD, Australian Corporate Code of Conduct Act etc etc. This is only a few topics included and the essay is not limited to these topics, you can research anything that’s relevant. The aim for this course is to develop student''s critical thinking skills, therefore the essay is more of your own thinking and is very open-ended.
