In this letter, your goal is to address a specific audience regarding either influential media (esp. tv) or racism in your own life or in the environment around you. Begin by makin this personal--you may want to relate an incident you experienced (make up something), describe a situation that concerns you, or tell a story about someone you know. If appropriate, use your letter to sersuade your audience to do or believe something with evidnece from your text. Or, if you perfer, analyze the situation you describe with appropriate evidence. USE specific reasons, evidnece and examples. Think about any current examples that affect your audience and are therefore esp. relevant. Consider everything you know about your audience. Consider also assumptions or opinions that might cause them to refject your argument, and address those counterarguements in your speech. You should quote specific evidnece from an article or other source. When you do, be sure and anme the author in a signal phrase to show where the information came from.
