Research Component: This is the student''s chance to explore a museum or art gallery of choice or observe art works and exhibitions and then report the findings. This paper is an analysis of an artwork describing/introducing the original work of art. The paper must be well written and IN THE STUDENT''S OWN WORDS, not someone else or some pages copied out of a research source. Students may however, copy some of the information from the identification card of a piece of art work, and use other research sources for some of the information; but, make sure that the sources are given credit in a bibliography. The paper must be typed, double-spaced, 12pt.standard font, 3 pages in length with an introduction, body, and conclusion. 1) Introduction--Begin with a clear statement introducing the artwork to the reader. Your introduction must include the title, artists'' name, and medium used. 2) Body--Details in full explanation. Describe the work--include elements and principles of art used by the artist. The body should have unity from paragraph to paragraph. 3) Conclusion--Should bring the message to an end. It should include your personal judgment related to elements and principles of design whether the artist used them or not. Did the painting or artwork give you any type of message or not? Describe the message if there is one. The title page should contain the following information: 1) Title of the paper 2) Student name 3) Date 4) Course name and number
