E-commerce – Scenario Prêt-a-Porter Prêt-a-Porter is a large international fashion house that has retail branches in prestigious locations such as Milan, Paris, New York and London. They deal with haute couture as well as prestigious handbags and luggage which is used by clients ranging from pop stars to self made millionaires Recently the organisation has had a major restructure take place within its Board of Directors. Its founder John Mason has decided to retire and has passed on his mantle to his daughter Sarah. Having just completed an MBA course from London Business School, Sarah is keen to bring the company up to date with the latest technology Sarah has decided that she would like to move the business online. She has hired you as an e-commerce analyst to help her embark on an e commerce strategy. The remaining directors are not fully convinced and Sarah therefore requires you to address them and justify why more money should be invested in developing e-commerce in the organisation. Most of the members of the management board are not that familiar with what e-commerce is all about and can not see the reason why a huge amount of money should be budgeted for an e-commerce trading strategy.
