You are required: Part A: Carry out research into the financial performance of Compass Group Plc, use the information provided by the company’s published financial statements to: 1. Discuss issues to consider when preparing projected financial statements. (10 Marks) 2. Forecast the Consolidated Income statement and the Consolidated Balance Sheet for the year to 30 September 2009. (40 Marks) Part B: Write a report to the management of the Compass Group Plc analysing the predicted financial position and performance of the company and comment on the company’s financing strategy. (50 Marks) Notes: Preparing projected financial statements 1. The projected financial statements should be prepared under International Financial Reporting Standard (IFRS). 2. All workings for the projected financial statements should be presented in the form of an appendix attached to the projected financial statements. Writing a report 1. You are required to write a formal report of 1,500 words to analyse the predicted financial position and performance of Compass Group Plc. 2. Your report should cover the elements of a formal report. 3. Your report should be structured by clear headings. 4. Calculation of ratios should be presented in appendix attached to the report.
