The Information Professional needs to understand the information management principles to electronic information in-house and on the internet. More and more these principles need to be reviewed to ensure good practice within the industry enforcing information standards and information continuity. The DDA (Disability Discrimination Act) is one such standard that is forcing information professionals to take stock and consider when designing electronic information services for internet users. You are required as an information consultant to develop a simple paper-based guide identifying the principles to effective web information design. The guide needs to focus on the following; 1. Information Accessibility (W3C, Web Accessibility Initiative, PAS78) - what sets are required to make information accessibility (Priorities)? 2. Web Design - what is good practice? Provide examples. 3. Web Usability - what is usability and how do you design this regarding websites? Your guide should be a maximum of 2000 words in length and must refer to relevant theory to underpin your argument.
