In 500 words you are required to summarise one of the theories that seek to explain crime. This task does not require you to review or critique the theoty. It is designed instead to test your ability to sift the important from the peripheral and to summarise complex ideas clearly, accessibly-imagine you are writing for the non-expert and succinctly. You should draw on a range of sources (i.e. not just textbooks and the internet) in producing this summary; at least four of them should be academic publications and you should reference as per a normal essay. The reference list must be excluded from the word count. This assignments will be assessed on the following criteria: 1. Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the topics chosen 2.
