The Research Paper should demonstrate understanding of the reading assignments as well as the implications of new knowledge. The eight-to ten-page paper should integrate readings and class discussions into work and life experience. It may include explanation and examples from previous experience as well as implications for future application. The purpose of the Research Paper is for you examine a current social organization in depth and to provide solutions for the agency to meet its stated purpose. Focus of the Research Paper Each student will submit an eight-to ten-page research paper which provides a study of one social agency which affects criminal justice in the United States. Students can choose a federal, state or local social agency to study. At a minimum, students’ research and information for the research shall include the following: 1. A detailed history of the creation of the social agency. 2. A presentation of the mission statement of the social agency. 3. Financial reports/summaries of the operations of the social agency. 4. A critical analysis of the effectiveness of the social agency. 5. Commentary on ways in which the social agency could improve its effectiveness towards its social goals. 6. A prediction concerning the future of the social agency and its impact on the criminal justice system. Students can supplement their papers with interviews of agency personnel, comparisons of similar governmental agencies in varying communities or service populations, updates on current legislative initiatives in the area, and political analyses of the issues and services involved with the agency’s actions. Writing the Research Paper The Research Paper: * Must be eight-to ten- double-spaced pages in length and formatted according to APA style as outlined in your approved style guide. * Must include a cover page that includes: - Student’s name - Course name and number - Name of paper - Instructor’s name - Date submitted * Must include an introductory paragraph with a succinct thesis statement. * Must address the topic of the paper with critical thought. * Must conclude with a restatement of the thesis and a conclusion paragraph. * Must use APA style as outlined in your approved style guide to document all sources. * Must include, on the final page, a Reference list that is completed according to APA style as outlined in your approved style guide. This is my opening statement, As we go through some of the most difficult financial times in our country’s history and the increasing number of elderly citizen living even longer, our country’s health care system is on the brink of collaspe. How can the only world super power forsake its citizens while less financial sable countrys provide their citizens with universel health care. In this paper I will discuss some problems that hamper our country’s health care and the program that controls it and I will indentify some solutions other countrys have implimented to provide universal health care.
