Scenario You are the Network engineer employed by Schlurp – A company making exotic fruit based drinks, you previously created a report concerning their server facilities. The company now want you to configure their network, Schlurp has recently obtained a site in the Amazon rainforest; this supplies a top secret ingredient for their new product “Sploosh” this is a multi million pound investment for the company. You have been asked to prepare a detailed report that will enable the entire network to be configured, managed and monitored. Site Details The new site is some five miles distant from their base with no direct line of sight between the two buildings. This building will house 150 employees and 10 managers; every employee has his/her own computer workstation. Expansion on both sites is estimated to rise by 50% within two years. Both buildings are of a similar construction i.e. one storey modern brick and steel, with separated office spaces. Schlurp require Sub-nets to exist for 5 employee categories: Managers, Administrative (office) Staff, Product developers, Supervisors and Staff, IP addresses will be allocated by a DHCP server, with reserved addresses for 4 network printers at each site; DNS is also required within the limits of the Schlurp network. E-mail facilities are required by Managers, Administration staff and Supervisors.
