During the course of the semester, students will write a literature review on a presidential election topic approved by me. Guidelines for writing literature reviews are found in your text. A literature review is a summary of the original research conducted on a given topic. You are in essence, summarizing the ideas of different scholars, comparing and contrasting their writings. You will be expected to use an electronic database for your research. UALR’s Library has the resources you will need for this project. You will need to review articles available online, so your classmates and your instructor can access these same articles. You will need to provide either a hotlink to these articles, or provide an electronic copy at the end of your literature review. It must be submitted as a Microsoft Word document. This is a 10-12 page review. Each individual article you review must be at least 15 pages. The 3 articles that have been approved by my professor I have as attachments. For research, I will expect any words used that are not your own to be cited appropriately—either with footnotes, endnotes, or in-text references using the MLA format.
