To successfully complete this project, you will be expected to: Synthesize the ethical principles and methodologies by which health care managers can understand, analyze, and resolve ethical issues. Synthesize the procedural methodologies by which managers can understand, analyze, and resolve ethical problems. Integrate the scholarly literature on decision making in health care ethical dilemmas to develop recommendations for future applications and research areas. Compare the concept of health care as a fundamental human need to the constraining realities of the marketplace. Discuss whether government should become involved in the matters of health care allocation and distribution. Apply ethical practice standards to the transmittal of health care information. Project Requirements To achieve a successful project experience and outcome, you are expected to meet the following requirements. You will choose from the following list of theories: Kantianism. Utilitarianism. Liberal individualism. Communitarianism. You will use the theory selected to analyze the value dilemmas that health care providers must confront. You may integrate several theories as necessary, but the theory you select must be the prominent one you use to guide your analysis throughout the paper. Paper Contents: Title page: Includes a descriptive title that indicates your chosen topic focus. Table of contents: Orients the reader to the main parts of the paper. Abstract: Describes the purpose of the paper and what it accomplishes. Introduction: States your approach and assumptions, the background the reader needs to understand your approach, and how you intend to address the key issues. Applications: Evaluates how legal and ethical practice standards and health care decision making are applied in health care services delivery. Assumptions: Synthesizes the information from the trend and application analyses with assumptions about the current and future use of ethics and decision making in health care. Provides the rationale and supporting data for each assumption. Conclusions: Summarizes your findings and speaks to future applications and research areas in ethics and health care decision making. Appendices: Not required, at your discretion. If included, appendices should be relevant and provide supporting information relative to the topic. Length of Paper: 10–14 pages excluding the abstract, table of contents, reference list, and appendices. References: A minimum of 15 references with at least seven from peer-reviewed journals. All references listed must be cited in the body of the text. APA Formatting: Resources and citations are formatted according to APA style and formatting guidelines. Written Communication: Written communication is free of errors that detract from the overall message.
