this is the instructors requirements for the research paper i''m requesting. students will choose a psychological disorder of interest to them. they will then research that disorder. there will be two parts to students'' papers: i. the research section of the paper should include general information about the disorder such as symptoms, etiology, treatment(s), prevalence, etc. ii. students will choose a movie that portrays the psychological disorder they chose to research then complete the following: a) what character in the movie portrayed this/these disorders (if several characters display psychological disorders, pick only one or two of the main characters - however, note that it is possible for a single character to have more than one disorder)? b) what symptoms did the character(s) present to substantiate that he or she had the disorder? c) what factors played a role in the character developing this disorder (e.g. environmental or genetic) or what factors contributed to the continuance of the disorder (e.g. a break-up in a relationship could contribute to depression). if no contributing factors are apparent, what factors do you feel could contribute to this particular disorder? d) did the character(s) receive treatment for the disorder? if so describe. if not describe treatment(s) which you feel would be appropriate in addressing this disorder. students'' paper should be submitted through turnitin - papers should be apa format (information on this format can be found on the internet at sites such as owl.english.purdue.edu/handouts/research/r_apa.html) and although there is no specific page amount required, in order to cover the information required I would think it should be no less than 5 to 7 pages double spaced.
