The paper should explore or investigate the effects of Post-Partum Depression on child growth and development. The paper should detail how attachment disorders on the part of the mother can lead to developmental delays in the child, as the mother constitutes the infants social environment and mediate their experience of the external world. Focus of the paper should fall on the cognitive development of the child, such as language and IQ, and the differences noted between a mother/child unit struggling with post-partum, and a mother/child unit that does not have post-partum present. Behavioral effects should also be investigated.
