International students are isolated by themselves : The rate of international students in America is pretty high. Most of them came America dreaming the American party like thing. But, they will segregate depend on same nationalities even though the discrimination is almost disappeared. I thought about the reason and how they segregate. They would feel the cultural difference and undergo hard time. Some of them can suffer from homesickness, then they will segregate together and sharing their time by talking about things of their countries. And, they have little apportunity to meet American friends. Some policy, such as separating student based on their race in dormitory, play a roll. As international student should take more than certain credit to stay in USA (because of the type of visa, F-1 visa), and they take more time to study than native american (slow reading, cannot fully understand lecture). And the fluency of language is also major problem. Because there are so many Foreign people who can speak English well, American people expect they can speak English well when they meet Asian or African. However, if you visit Asian country, they will try to talk with you by English. So, international student cause misunderstanding frequently such as ignoring someone or impolite words. Then, they will shrink and feel that they are tiny person. Actually, many American friends invited foreign people for party or events but they barely visit. They need to change their mind. They try to get used to American culture and their own effort is required make a change.
