Assignment 1 will provide the student with an opportunity to demonstrate the ability to: • Develop knowledge of the main sources of data on social welfare issues. Assessment Criteria: Assignment One - Literature review • Highlight the structure and format. • Brief discussion of policy/practice context of the problem. • Identify issues, problems and ideas arising from the literature. • Rationale for choice of topic. • Understanding of sources. • Ability to draw on a wide range of material. • Communicate information, ideas and arguments in writing in ways appropriate to the audience being addressed. • Organisation – coherence, progression, word limit. • Appropriate referencing / full and accurate list (minimum of 12 text references- including at least 6 articles from peer - reviewed journals). • Style / language.
