I. Introduction- Physicians provide means for patients to terminate their life. Who decides whether or not life is worth living? Is euthanasia a merciful act for the terminally ill, or does it violate a Dr.''s hippocratic oath? Terminally ill people feel control over the timing of their death. Proponents recognize the right to die with dignity. Opponents, on religious grounds, argue that life should be left to God. (need something with a % then cite where it came from) Consequences of legalizing physician-assisted suicide could lead to extreme practices. (need to have something as to how it will pertain to me as a nurse). As a nurse, I will be dealing with life and death situations in which I will ve asked what should be done.
