The content of the research proposal Part 1: Topic – “ The impact of inward foreign investment on nature and intensity of Chinese manufacturing exports” Part 2: Background, tell the reader why you feel the research that you are planning is worth the effort. This may be expressed in the form of a problem that needs solving of something that you find exciting and has aroused your curiosity. You will be expected to show a clear link between the previous work that has been done in your field of research interest and the content of your proposal. Part 3: Research questions and objectives, these should leave the reader in no doubt as to precisely what it is that your research seeks to achieve. Part 4: Research Method, these two aims met by dividing into two parts: research design and data collection. The research design section gives an overview of the method chosen and the reason for that choice. The data collection section goes into much more detail about how specifically the data are to be collected. It will allow the student and the reader to assess whether what you are proposing can be resourced. Resource considerations may be categorized as finance, data access and equipment. Part 7: References, key literature sources to which you have referred in the background section and which relate to the pervious work that is directly informing your own proposal should be all that is necessary
