The increase over the years in suicide for gay and lesbian teens as an escape from pain and the stresses they are faced with for their sexual orientation. They are two to three times more likely to commit suicide and men are more common, because women can not tolerate pain like men and men do not discuss their emotions. Stressful build ups and rejection lead to most gay teen suicides from verbal abuse by other teens and separation from friends and family for their sexual orientation and loneliness. Gay and lesbians more commonly have psychological problems and use substance as a form of relief. They abuse anti-depressants and sleeping pills. They are also more often depressed which causes suicide an escape from pain. Gay and Lesbians feel looked down upon by society for their way of life by the catholic church, classmates, and family.
