In what way is Karl Marx’s description of historical materialism a departure from earlier philosophical writings by Hobbes, Locke, Rousseau, etc.? What does he assume about the nature of reason, social class, labor, and property that is different from the earlier philosophers? In what way is it similar? In your answer you should --Have a clear thesis statement in the first or second paragraph!
