An analysis will be made of the current instructional technologies in use as well as teaching methodologies used in an online format. The researcher will examine what training levels educators have received in order to teach on line. Student retention rates and successes will also be studied to determine if an increase in quality instructor preparation in distance education has a correlation to student outcomes. Data measurement tools will include surveys of students that have failed or dropped the distance course. Surveys of faculty members who have received training in the area of distance education. Interviews with faculty members who have taught in an on line environments and post course faculty evaluation scores.
